Review of Shanghai Noon (2000) by Joshua T — 23 Jun 2009
Funny and amazing. Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson are great comedians. Lots of Kung Fu fighting from Jackie however not much from Owen (who prefers guns instead, being a cowboy). Owen is well depicted as the playa who robs and cheats in gambling.
Jackie is the obedient and patriotic solider who is determined to save the princess who was kidnapped and taken to America from the Forbidden City in China. I wasn't surprised to see Lucy Liu (who is the princess) throwing some Kung Fu fighting moves.
Funny how the Jackie got a wife within four day in America. Although what got me startled was that his wife at the end of the film became Owen's wife instead. In the end, Jackie doesn't return back to China, but instead stays in America.
