Review of Shane (1953) by Steve T — 25 Sep 2007
The greatest western ever made, and possibly the best film too. A powerful, satisfying, symbolic, action packed story wistfully portrayed through the eyes of a child. Simplicity and subtlety combined with great acting, direction and photography and a few dark passages.
What film has all of that added to universal appeal? Makes modern special effects films look the trash they mostly are.
