Good western. They did a fantastic job making Alaln Ladd look taller than 5'5". I just wish Jack Palance had a larger role. I think the book is slightly better, but the action sequences are mostly good except a few punches go nowhere near the other guy, yet he goes down.
This movie made me sympathize with the "bad guy". Ryker(Emile Meyer), and his desire to keep the range.
