That kid was freakin annoying, but I like the message at the end, and the fact that Shane is anti-gun is a pretty unique concept in older Westerns. While not one of my favorite westerns, I'm sure if I was better at putting it in perspective as to when it came out versus what had come before it, I would probably appreciate it more.
