Review of Shane (1953) by Peter P — 01 Apr 2010
Iconic, with some good performances and some not so good performances, Shane is a common western that has stood out over time. I actually first heard about while watching the Sam L. Jackson movie "Negotiator", where he and Kevin Spacey debate if Shane is dead at the end of the film (I side with Spacey on this one in case you were wondering.
) so since it is considered to be a classic I thought I would give it a try. It is good, in that "the nice people are really nice and the bad guys are really bad" sort of way, it is way too slow though and really predictable, but I can easily see why it is a lot of peoples favourties, but it is not really close to being one of mine.
