Review of Shane (1953) by Jordan C — 04 Oct 2010
Two very famous westerns were released in 1953: Shane and The Naked Spur. The Naked Spur is well made film from 1953, with stunning scenery and intriguing plotline. Shane, however, surpasses this film, with not only even more incredibly gorgeous scenery, but also a strong plot, memorable score, great acting, and an very intriguing title character, played by Alan Ladd.
An absolutely splendid piece of work and not only the best film from 1953, but one of the best Westerns of all time, and also the film under George Steven's direction. I also liked the kid, Brandon de Wilde.
Beautiful film!
