Review of Shame (2011) by Patryk C — 24 Jul 2012
Downright enigmatic in its intimacy, and a complex study of sexual addiction. A true career-booster for Michael Fassbender, who plays the troubled and full of weaknesses character, which easily reminds of American Psycho's Patrick Bateman and Mad Men's Don Draper.
It's a fearless evaluation of a true illness that infests the body and the mind, and a graphic depiction of the gradual immersion into obscurity. May be too shocking for some people, but still should be judged by its message not visuals.
