Shame (2011).
Halfway through the film and after sex with her brother's married boss, Cissy and Brandon sit on the sofa: Cissy tries to connect and pull empathy from her brother Brandon and fails (paraphrased below) Brandon: I'm not responsible for you. Cissy: yes you are. Brandon: No Im not Cissy: we're all we've got. we got to take care of each other. Brandon: how do you take care of me? grabs her face 'how?' Cissy: Im trying. Cissy: I'm sorry Brandon: you're always sorry, no actions just words Cissy: Im sorry Im sorry Im sorry Cissy doesn't know how to express her feelings until, later in the film, she makes one last desperate action. A beautiful, very painful snapshot of their entire history.
