I wasn't looking forward to seeing this bc, from the trailers, it looked like a stupid funny/goofy stupid type of comedy. Reminiscent of Frankenhooker, Fun With Dick & Jane, Joe Versus The Volcano, The Office, virtually anything that Martin Short has ever done, etc., which is the sort of comedy that I really can't stand! Although, The Cable Guy, Beavis & Butthead, Beavis & Butthead Do America, Dumb & Dumber, & a few others clearly show that this disgust for this type of comedy is not all encompassing; I like the movies that I like. And stupid funny/goofy stupid comedies I can only take in small doses.
With that said, I hate most chick flicks bc they are cheesy & stupid as hell. Shallow Hal is no improvement, & is in a way much more insidious than any chick flick that I have ever seen! From the trailers that I saw, it appeared to be a gross out comedy and it turned into a "fat girls need love too" piece of sh!t!!
It is a chick flick in disguise! If I knew that going in perhaps I wouldn't have felt that I wasted the minutes of my life that I spent watching this movie. Unfortunately, I do and that is why I find this movie is an infinitely stupid pile of politically correct horsesh!t!! Jack Black should be ashamed of himself...
