Review of Shallow Hal (2001) by Timothy P — 19 Jan 2010
Hal who is tramatized by his passing father to tell him to go for only the hottest girls, is always trying for the hottest chicks that want nothing to do with him.
Eventually he is caught in an elevator at work, with world renowned speaker, Tony Robbins. After talking with Robbins for a couple hours in the elevator, Hal agrees to be hypnotised and de-traumatized to be able to talk to all the hottest women by being able to see their INNER BEAUTY. Hal then becomes unshallow and starts seeing all the ugly women as pretty hot women.
His best friend who is still normally shallow, can see what Hal's hitting on and realizes how insane he must be and tries to warn Hal that he's divulging in Large and uncomfortable waters.
Yet Hal finds a really pretty girl, who we see is a very slim and curvacous girl thru his eyes (G. Paltrow) and finds that he is really in love with her.
I won't give the rest of the juicy details of this incredible movie, but its a very heartwarming movie about how we should all see past the flesh and fat of people, and look inward to their inner beauty.
