Nowhere near the realm of the original Japanese film, but it was a good try anyway. Many of the elements that made the movie special was due to the setting -- the Japanese society that is, which would not work as well in an American film.
Loved watching Jennifer Lopez dance, and it was nice to see Richard Gere take on a lead role again. Watch the original if you can. If not, this isn't a bad remake either.
