Review of Shakespeare in Love (1998) by Bobby J — 04 Dec 2011

I guess it's one of those movies where you have to understand the references in order to fully enjoy the movie. I was never into Shakespeare and Romeo and Juliet was probably the only play I really knew the story of, but even that not in detail. Also A Midsummer Night's Dream, since we had to read that at school for English literature.

The story was alright and the chemistry between Joseph Fiennes and Gwyneth Paltrow was great. The clothing and make up were great too.

I just expected better since it won 7 Academy Awards and that's why I'm disappointed.
