I try to keep an open mind about period films, and some of them are quite fantastic, but for a critically acclaimed film with a superb cast this was a terrible film in every aspect from the pacing, the subtle-as-jackhammer 'humor', the climax, the ending, the protagonists, the antagonists, just everything! Not to mention the worst rendition of Queen Elizabeth I that I have ever seen.
.. Can I get my 123 minutes back?
