Review of Shaft (1971) by Terry W — 16 Jun 2011
Shaft is an entertaining blaxploitation pic with one great theme song. It's got a pretty basic crime plot, but its main character (played by Richard Roundtree, who oozes cool in the film) is very strong.
Its low budget shows from time to time and the action could have been more tense, but Shaft, with all of his witty dialogue and take-no-crap-from-anyone mannerisms, is a character who can carry a film from beginning to end.
See Shaft and you'll wish you were the man.
