Review of Shadowlands (1993) by David A — 11 Feb 2008
Beautiful, perfect movie from start to finish, Anthony Hopkins has only ever equalled this best role in Remains of the Day and Debra Winger is better than her usual great self. Deeply moving in particular was the performance by Joseph Mazzello (where is he now?).
As C S Lewis faces his biggest torment, this film also acts as a starting point in thinking about the complexities of faith in an uncertain world. One of my all-time faves.
