Review of Shadowlands (1993) by Peter P — 07 Apr 2010
I first saw this when I was much younger and thought it was slow and boring, I finally got to see it as an adult and I have to say that it is a terrific film. I am a big C.S. Lewis fan and I think that Hopkins pulled it off perfectly.
The film itself is a beautiful love story about overcoming fear and accepting to love and be loved. Debra Winger was great as Joy Gresham, her chemistry with Hopkins was great, the first half filled with tension and the second with unjudging love.
Overall Shadowlands is a must see for film and Lewis fans alike, although I am sorry that I watched with out my bestfriend.
