Hopkins plays CS Lewis in this true story about the love affair between Lewis, a college lecturer in Oxford, and an aspiring american writer(Winger), its a heartbreaking tale of a private man who falls in love only to find the woman he loves is dying, the scenes of Hopkins trying to deal with her il lness and finally death are so tender and beautiful.
.. just a gem of a movie.
