Review of Shadowboxer (2005) by Elissa P — 01 Nov 2010
I was somewhat disappointed because I truly admired and praised Lee Daniels with his work on "Precious," so I expected this one to be similar or just as good, but that was not the case. (I must keep in consideration this was his directorial debut).
The story was different, and I appreciate that, but I just didn't get it. Even though it has a feel-good ending, I believe, at least in the case of this movie, that movies tend to be better when the finale is dramatic.
I didn't think acting was terrific like I thought it would be, and that is a shame because it has a great cast. I hate to say this but I don't really recommend this one.
