Review of Shadow of a Doubt (1943) by Debra B — 07 Aug 2008
This is the last movie I saw. We watched it on Netflix. The movie itself is very good. Part of my irritation with it is because the protagonist and her younger sister are very realistic in ways that are very irritating to me. (I've *been* the younger sister. I may still be. I'm sorry.).
The script also has sort of a breathiness, "gee-whiz"ziness about it--but so do the characters, so I suspect that's irritating to me because of the verisimilitude and not because the movie isn't excellent.
