Review of Shadow of a Doubt (1943) by Aaron G — 19 Feb 2010
For some reason, I didn't review this one before. Hitchcock's own personal favorite film may not be my favorite of his, but perfect casting and an expertly paced plot combine to make Shadow of a Doubt a real winner.
Joseph Cotten embodies Uncle Charlie, beloved family member and all around swell guy. The only problem is he just might have a dark secret. Teresa Wright slowly grows suspicious of her uncle, and a battle ensues behind the scenes as each tries to hide the conflict from the rest of the innocent and sweet family.
Top shelf Hitchcock.
