Review of Shadow of a Doubt (1943) by Andrew I — 25 Jun 2012
A little slow to get going, a little formulaic, a little predictable. Some of the supporting characters are pretty irritating too, but the leads are almost mesmerising for such an old film. Shadow of a Doubt fits in perfectly between the earlier Suspicion and the later Strangers On a Train, as it is almost half of one and half of the other.
I prefer those two, but this is entertaining enough. 7.5/10.
