Review of Shadow of a Doubt (1943) by Scott R — 15 Jan 2018
With cold-hearted cynicism Cotton is perfectly cast as the cold killer of widows. You also have a touch of black comedy played out by the father and his friend the obsessive devotees of true crime and committing the perfect murder on each other, and the daughter who loves her uncle until she discovers his secrets.
Hitchcock builds up the suspense and then all is revealed to masterful last half an hour.
