Absolutely excellent British gangster film. Ray Winstone's retired gangster character is alot more human that alot of these such characters you see in similar films. Ben Kingsley and Ian McShane are absolutely superb in their roles as rithless, relentless gangsters who can genuinely make the blood chill with their very demeanour.
It has one or two elements that some may compare to Richie films but Sexy Beast (being released at the same time as Snatch) is very much of a similar bloodline, yet is very much its own movie, very original take on the gangster genre and a real classic by any standards.
McShane and Kingsley play marvellous bastards and Winstone makes you really feel for the character. Excellent film-making.
