Review of Sexy Beast (2001) by Deanomite — 21 Jan 2020

Very good production values for $4m. Mostly a vehicle for Ben Kingsley, and he is excellent, somewhat schizophrenic. I like the scene where he is shaving and talks himself into attacking his buddy, admits he just doesn't want his friend to be happy.

I re examined this after seeing Jonathan Glazer's only other directorial effort, Under the Skin-which was really amazing. The mellow Spanish countryside is well represented, too often the feel of the location is not well captured.
