Review of sex, lies, and videotape (1989) by Lorenzo V — 12 Apr 2009
Provocative as drama. its an interesting debut from soderbergh but definitely a first effort. its good at penetrating the surface issues of the three nouns in the title. and im particularly interested in the implied criticism of movie making here.
however, andie mcdowell has never really been all that great of an actress. she was a 90s it girl for a while but it all feels pretty one-note with her. overall, it was good, and I can only hope that we could be as honest as the characters are at times in this film about our sexuality.
