Review of sex, lies, and videotape (1989) by Hassan V — 13 May 2012
It is surprising to think Soderbergh made this at only 26 because there is nothing amateur about his film making. It is a solid, well made and well acted film but I wasn't blown away by it or deeply engaged at any point.
I think it's reputation as an incredible example of independent film is more about how successful it was and how it open the doors for independent cinema during the 90's than for its quality as a film.
