Review of Sex Drive (2003) by Itraveltoearth A — 19 Feb 2010

I have to admit, watching the movie, I was genuinely surprised at how much I enjoyed watching it. It's certainly not a good movie, but it still brings some laughs, and it has "guilty pleasure movie" written all over it.

Sex Drive is about as cliche as almost any other crazy teen sex comedy. There's a desperate guy virgin, with a friend who's getting laid a lot, and another friend who's a girl who he likes, but is not really sure about the relationship until the end of the movie. He's an online dater kind of guy and meets a hot blond chick, who promises that he could bang her.

It meets all the standards of a raunchy sex comedy.

I watched the Unrated version of the film first, for no apparent reason. The only difference is you see really pointless add-ins of naked women walking around the scene in an entirely pointless way.

The film is very awkward, a little gross sometimes, but is still enjoyable and funny.

Sex Drive is one of those films where I enjoyed it a lot, but in my mind, I knew the film was pretty bad.

But nonetheless the movie surprised me, which I'm glad about.

But I'd say to skip this film, if you are an average movie watcher who likes watching GOOD movies. Only if you like teen sex comedies, it's possible that you will enjoy this one.
