Review of Sex and the Single Girl (1964) by Jakki J — 18 Feb 2010
A typical farce from the 60s, similar to the Doris Day/ Rock Hudson films and clearly one of the inspirations behind the movie "Down With Love" (starring Renee Zelwegger). Natalie Wood plays an author with a bestseller to help women snag the man of their dreams.
Tony Curtis works for a tabloid magazine trying to get a scoop on her. Wood has never looked so beautiful and Curtis is cute, but I found the plot to be even more silly than the aforementioned movies.
It even ends in an over-the-top car chase often found in comedies of this decade. Things get pretty ridiculous but it's worth a watch if you enjoy these types of films, as I do.
