Review of Sex and the City (2008) by Kim S — 11 Mar 2010
Once again pissy little reviews from angry guys calling it a chick flick. Don't fucking watch it then. This movie was great and obviously made for the fans of the television series. Loved the addition of Jennifer Hudson.
I expected the big scene but actually didn't believe it would happen. Samantha is still my favorite. But all in all, great entertainment, especially for fans of the show. The women are intelligent, independent, smart, successful, funny and people hate them? I mean talk about bullshit.
Just because they don't succomb to tired gender roles? Or get married under age 30? Or don't apologize for their opinions? I am so not interested in fashion, but I still admire these characters for being who they are and not apologizing for it.
They know what they want and they strive to get it without settling for bullshit. I can undestand the gripes about "all they care about is money and clothes and cosmos".. but that is not true.
Yes there are many problems in the world and sufferings, but not every movie can address every problem in the world. So back off haters. Can't wait to see #2.
