Review of Sex and the City (2008) by Timo S — 15 May 2010
Having never seen the series, the movie gave me a (positive) overview of what the series is about. Given the controversy about the quality of the show, I'd say it's pretty interesting, despite my initial skepticism.
Sex and the City: The Movie, which like the show I'm guessing, is about fashion and love. The movie cleverly and in a heartfelt manner tells the love stories of 4 ladies, and illustrates the importance of having good friends & a solid support base.
Through challenging examples of cheating husbands and ditchy grooms, the movie explores what love really is. It also reinforces the notion that everything will be okay in the end, which is a very important thing to believe in, if we want to make through life in a fairly tolerable manner.
This film is probably the only 2+ hour movie about love that I enjoyed watching the whole way through.
Highly recommended.
