Review of Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll (2010) by Mhairi C — 18 Jan 2010
Andy Serkis is a revelation as the troubled Ian Dury - his performance is gritty, raw and deserving of award recognition. Bill Milner stretches his acting muscles too by graduating from his sappy Son of Rambow character to a full spectrum of emotions as Dury's son - he does brilliantly.
Some lovely stylistic set pieces but the middle section sags and drags slightly where it could have been trimmed to perfection.
