Review of Sex and Death 101 (2007) by John I — 11 Jan 2009
Sex and Death 101 was an odd little movie, that I really loved.
This film follows Roderick Blank. He gets a mysterious email one day, of a list of women. All the women he has slept with, or ever will sleep with. At first, he thinks his friends are playing a trick on him and then becomes obsessed with the list and meeting these women.
I thought it was wonderfully original and amusing. This film had some very funny moments. Like Fred, played by the always fun Patton Oswalt. He was a riot. I am a Simon Baker fan, he is great in that show The Mentalist. He was very good in this movie. I also really liked Winona Ryder in this movie. She was golden, I just wish more of the script was centered around her character. I also enjoyed Mindy Cohn asTrixie. Haven't seen much of her, since her Facts Of Life days.
Sex and Death 101 is definitely a little gem worth checking out. It is the most novel idea I have seen out of Hollywood, in quite some time. It is biting, witty, and just plain fun.
