Review of Severance (2006) by Addison B — 25 Mar 2008
Holy god this movie was terrifying.
It was funny for sure there were definitely moments of humor abound, however there are soooo many horrible terrifying things going on in this movie.
It's pretty freaking graphic, but, the story is actually pretty damn cool, there is a genuinely awesome fight scene toward the end of the movie and it is downright enjoyable. This is really the only comedy horror movie I've seen where it's really genuinely scary, made very well and for once, you find yourself rooting for all of the characters, usually horror films make me find one stupid stereotypical character and from that point on I find myself hoping they will die.
Not in Severance though, it isn't like there are leads and then supporting actors, it seems very real and everybody is strong enough to be their own lead.
Great, not for the squeamish though, if you want to see it, grab a scream buddy you can hide your face in and squeeze really hard when you get freaked out.
