It has fun fantasy elements, though nothing we haven't really seen before. It has lots of cool monsters, though there is an overabundance of CGI. There are some interesting choices of cast members, but they all overact.
The plot is shallow, and somewhat predictable. All together, it's an entertaining film, there just isn't enough substance to make it a memorable experience.
