Everything you've heard about this movie is 100% true. It is not only the best movie from Akira Kurosawa, who is possibly the greatest filmmaker of all time, but it is one of the greatest films ever made. Full of outstanding characters, deep themes, great humor, excellent battle sequences and potent emotional moments, Seven Samurai is a feast of cinematic brilliance. It may sound daunting to set aside 3 hours and 27 minutes to watch a film, but believe me when I tell you that it is well worth the investment of every minute. This is a masterpiece of the highest order.
