Review of Seven Samurai (1954) by David L — 01 Feb 2015
Seven Samurai of course has superb direction and excellent cinematography, it is well acted and filmed and it may be influential, but it is a very boring and overlong film with weak character development, lack of emotional investment and too much action.
It is Kurosawa's weaker and most overrated film which is endlessly inferior to his masterpieces Ikiru and Rashomon.
