Review of Seven Psychopaths (2012) by Hugh R — 07 Mar 2015
Quickie Review:
What can I say about this movie? It is weird, it is enjoyable, it is well acted, it makes NO sense for much of its running time, but by the end everything closes well and it has been well worth the journey.
Colin Farrell does some of his best acting here, Sam Rockwell is great as usual though you want to punch his character in the face every in other scene, and ONLY Christopher Walken can tell someone that he doesn't care that he's about to get shot and actually make you believe it. This movie is inventive, breaks from the typical structures, and is funny in a very dark way.
That's another thing. The marketing for this movie makes it seem laugh out loud funny and it is, BUT make no mistake, this is a DARK comedy. It is disturbing and harsh and though you will laugh, you will also cringe. Good movie and well worth a look for those who can handle the subject matter.
