Review of Session 9 (2001) by Jon W — 13 Apr 2009
Cleaning asbestos out of an abandoned asylum had all the makings of a pretty decent horror film. It's a shame that it kinda spiraled out in the second half. There are some genuinely creepy scenes/dialogues scattered throughout, particularly the session 9 tapes themselves.
However, as the film progresses, it gets less and less impressive as the plot tangents off and starts going down the tube. Haven't we already seen evil spirits living in buildings and then inhabiting people? Oh right.
.. Amityville Horror... AND The Shining. Even if the parallel isn't exact; it's close enough to be somewhat a letdown by the time the film ends.
