Review of Serpico (1973) by Brentwood B — 12 Dec 2009
Another flick I saw @ the theatre when it 1st came out (and haven't seen since)--Al Pacino here, pre-"Godfather" but already Hollywood's hottest actor w/ Sidney Lumet's (?) critical hit, "Dog Day Afternoon" released about the same time, in a true story (from a novel) as a NYC cop NOT on the take!
I took 20% off bcuz it was overly 'talky'.
Hollywood was on a quick SOCIAL role about this time w/ this, "Dog Day", "All the President's Men" and "The Godfather's", "Coming Home" etc... Proving that social role movies can be alot better than fiction & CG!
