Sex/Nudity : Once, moderate, rape.
Violence : Some, moderate.

Detailed Contents:
Serpico has been rated 15 for strong language. There is occasional use of strong language (e.g. fuck) throughout the film, all of which is perfectly acceptable at a 15 rating.
There is also one scene of sexual violence. We briefly see a group of men attacking a half naked woman; the men are persued and caught. This scene would have been too strong for a 12 rating. There are also a couple of scenes of partial nudity (a womans breasts are seens whilst she takes a bath), which would have been acceptable at a lower rating.
There is some moderate violence (beatings etc) but nothing depicting any detail. In once scene, a man is shot in the face - although, this is not actually seen - leaving a bloody bullet wound on his cheek (he later recovers). Whilst this scene is fairly violent, it would have been acceptable at a 12 rating.
Finally, there is infrequent drug use. A group of police officers are given spliffs which they happily smoke. There are also some references to drugs but nothing that wouldn't be acceptable at a lower rating.
