Review of Serpico (1973) by Cara B — 23 Jun 2011
This movie will probably be boring for some people. However, I think it's Pacino's best (that I've seen) other than the Godfather movies. It's extremely frustrating because we hate that Pacino's character is so oppressed by everyone and everything.
He is the true voice of morality, and he stands strong, despite being human. You could compare his character to a modern Jesus (despite not living up to Christian morals). A heart-wrenching drama about a man who does the right thing and is punished for it while the wrongdoers continue to live and prosper in their sin.
Based on a true story.
