Review of Serial Mom (1994) by Billy B — 10 Feb 2011
Beverly is the perfect mother. Loving and caring. But if anyone threatens her or her family, she may just take things to a whole new level.
This film is funny. It's one of those so-bad-it's-good films. It doesn't take itself seriously and it's just a fun film. It's a comedy for horror fans really. It keeps you engrossed with what Beverly is gonna do next, and how. Yeah, it's cheesy, but it's so ridiculous that you don't really care.
The acting was great. Kathleen Turner is great as Beverly. Sadistic an Innocent at the same time. A young Ricki Lake was wierd to see, and Matthew Lillard in his early days was good too. I didn't expect to see Law and Orders Sam Waterston in the mix, but yeah. Many many many cameo's in there (including Suzanne Somers and Kathy Bates).
Overall Serial Mom is a great laugh. My rating is 3/5. A comedy for horror lovers.
