Those unfamiliar with the series will most likely be lost. Fans of the show Firefly will probably still enjoy. The movie suffers from trying to achieve too much though. A lot of effort put into answering all the hanging questions from the series as well as wrapping everything up.
In the end, it's still a good sci-fi flick that most wil enjoy despite some of teh story issues.
