Review of Serendipity (2001) by Christine C — 25 Nov 2009
A little bit on the traditional romantic comedy side, as in somewhat predictable. But I was there for every second of the ride and really enjoyed it. I actually wish I saw this film before I directed and wrote 'Waiting Whales' because the plotlines are extremely extremely similar.
Except, mine's a bit darker and isn't interjected by poppy experimental flow videos. Still, an amazing cast in John Cusack, Kate Beckinsale whom I fell in love with, Molly Shannon and Jeremy Piven as the supporting friend characters, and Eugene Levy as an arrogant salesman.
Which was kind of an odd character and in the main frame of the film, unnecessary. Peter Chelsom the director went on to direct 'Hannah Montana: The Movie'. So, take your pick on if he's talented or ambitious.
Still unquestionably I enjoyed this film immensely. However it does feel like 'Before Sunrise' lite.
