Review of Seraphim Falls (2007) by Scot C — 18 Oct 2010
"That which is yours will always return to you. That which you take will always be taken from you".
It is very rare for this style western to made in this decade, and everytime one comes out I believe its like gold being found. This film does not fit into this era of movie making, but i'm glad it was made, and its very good. I have to mention the cinematography by John Toll, it is absolutely stunning, and captures the landscapes beautifully. Pierce Brosnan in many films has tried to step as far away from Bond as far as he can, and in this movie he gives an impressive performance. Liam Neeson as always,is solid. A great cameo from Anjelica Huston, in an interesting role that seems surreal, but in a scene thats pivitol to the story. Its a cat and mouse story, and what makesit really interesting is that for the most part you dont know really who the antagonist is. The chase at times does seem to be a bit prolonged, but there is enough suspense to keep one engaged. Its the kind of movie i'd like to star in one day, I really enjoyed it!
