What a beautiful movie, and Alan Rickman is amazing! It was so easy to fall in love with these characters and really feel for their situations. This movie is quiet and charming -- and just like Pride and Prejudice -- it shows you how complicated the lives of women and men really were.
The rich were no more free than the poor to do what they really wanted to do. If you are a true romantic you will love this film.
