Review of Sense and Sensibility (1995) by Amethyst V — 21 Feb 2010
This is such a great movie based on the book by the author Jane Austen. One of my very favorite genres is period pieces, and in every area of great film making this picture stands out. As it was in the older days of England this story is about one's status in life and marrying the right person to achieve the highest status whether you are in love with them or not.
Ah, but then there are also those who believe in true love and what that really means. A very moving, beautiful, romantic, perfectly cast and acted film. If you love this movie..there is another Sense and Sensibility put out by the BBC which is longer and more detailed and is excellent and every bit as good as this one!! I rented it from Netflix and LOVED it!! On "My 5 Star Chick Flicks" & "In Another Century" Lists.
