Review of Sense and Sensibility (1995) by Valerie O — 19 Dec 2011
I pretty much dislike telenovelas and soap operas and the sort. They are campy, cliched, badly acted and most of the times do not even make sense. But Jane Austen and 19th century England just hit my soft spot.
That is where the loophole to my "cool and manly" taste in movies is found I guess. Sense and Sensibility does it all the way, with its affable message and wisdom. Unbelievably acted and directed, with the natural settings to go with.
Even if your choice of british movies start with Guy Ritchie Sense and Sensibility deserves a chance (or it may be that you deserve it). Still many will not like it because this is in the end, a soap opera.
Hell, this might as well be the original seed.
