Review of Sense and Sensibility (1995) by Jameson W — 12 Apr 2012
Great film, just not my type! Fantastic perfomances all around, especially by Kate Winslet, who never fails to impress me. I thought Emma Thompson did a great job in adapting the screenplay. I haven't read the novel, but it's so hard to get good adaptations, but this was nice. She also gives a strong performance, too. The costumes and overall apperance of the film were nice.
This is a great film, I can't deny that. However, the 140 minute running time is a bit much for me. It's not boring, and not really slow either, it's more uneventful than anything. But again, this is a very good film. See this one for Emma Thompson's Oscar winning Screenplay and for the performances. I recommend it!
