Review of Senna (2010) by Lex J — 23 Jun 2014
I'm an avid F1 fan, and through my eyes, Senna (2011) is not a very educational documentary. I didn't learn about Senna's techniques, training, methods, philosophies. Kapadia has emphasized Senna's humility and popularity, even though these traits have nothing to do with racing.
From the style I can deduce, Senna's not my favorite F1 driver; he simply drives as fast as he can. His dream is F1, like every single driver in the grid, but his sacrifices aren't as great as Lauda's.
His strategy is less than Prost. His recklessness is less than Hunt. In this documentary, I learned that Senna is only the 'good boy' of racing, not the best.
